Vietnam promulgates the amended Land Law and the amended Law on Credit Institutions

The Office of the President on February 19 announced the President’s decision to promulgate the amended Land Law and the amended Law on Credit Institutions which was passed by the National Assembly at its recent extraordinary session.

 

 

The Office of the President holds a press briefing in Hanoi on February 19 to announce the President's decision promulgating two new laws relating to land and credit institutions.

 

Deputy Chairman of the President's Office Pham Thanh Ha, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Le Minh Ngan, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam Doan Thai Son, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Nguyen Thi Thuy Ngan, and representatives of leaders of some agencies of the National Assembly, representatives of ministries, branches, and the President's Office chaired the press conference.

Representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and leaders of the State Bank of Vietnam presented new features of the Land Law and the Law on Credit Institutions; press agencies asked leaders of ministries and branches to discuss and clarify issues of concern.

The Law on Credit Institutions (revised), comprising 15 chapters and 210 chapters, will take effect from July 1, completing legal regulations regarding the organization and operations of credit institutions and dealing with shortcomings of the current law. Meanwhile, the Land Law (revised) has 16 chapters and 260 articles. It will be effective from January 1, 2025, except for some particular articles.
