Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Nam province Le Tri Thanh surveyed the forestry seedling nurseries

Currently, Quang Nam province has about 141 nurseries, including 40 permanent nurseries and more than 100 temporary nurseries. Annual demand for forestry seedlings is 75 million trees. However, the province has only 138 seedling production units and provides about 54 million seedlings per year. Therefore, businesses have to buy about 21 million seedlings from outside the province. In addition, households with seedling nurseries have not met the conditions for production, business and material sources. Therefore, the quality of the seed source is quite low. 

Quang Nam province is very interested in the production and business of forestry seedlings. Because this is one of the important steps contributing to the development of the forestry sector and fighting climate change.

At this conference, experts and businesses proposed many useful solutions on development orientation and application of new technologies in seedling production. In addition, they also shared experiences in production, business, nursery management and quality improvement of seedlings in the province.
